Starband Information Page

After the installation of the Starband equipment and the activation of service, the customers connection from this point on is with us, the Dealer/Installer who sold you the equipment.  We will make every attempt to solve your problem before referring you to Starband Technical Support.  There is a 90 day installation warranty that covers a re-point of the dish, repairing/replacing damaged cable runs, replacing failed electronics, etc.  This warranty covers parts and labor.  After 90 days, the warranty covers equipment and a service charge will be made for any onsite service performed.  The Starband installer will configure and verify the customers computers can communicate successfully with the Starband equipment before leaving the site.  In addition, if the customer wants to share the connection will two (2) or more computers in the same household, the installer will install, setup & configure all required networking components and each individual computer while onsite.  The customers cost for this service will be only for any required equipment such as a router, Ethernet interface cards, wireless PCMCIA cards, etc.  The residential service will support up to 3 computers under normal use without major degradation of service quality.

A Starband Certified Installer will make a service call for no charge if it turns out to be a Starband equipment related problem.  If the problem is with the customers computer and/or other networking equipment, a service charge will be made.

Any changes/modifications made by the customer to the Outdoor Equipment resulting in loss or degradation of service will result in loss of warranty and require a re-installation fee to make any corrections/fixes needed to get the customer back online.

Upload/download speeds are "UP TO" speeds.  There is no guarantee that these speeds will be achieved, however, Starband Re-invented is making major changes and effort to ensure the customer receives the best service and support possible by emphasizing quality over quantity.

Weather fade is common with Satellite services, both Internet and TV.  The effects depend greatly on the type of weather being encountered.  Heavy rain can cause signal loss as well as snow accumulating on the dish or feedhorn.  Generally, light rain will have little to no effect on Starband service, and in many cases, satellite TV signals will be lost before the Starband internet signal.
